Income Tax Refund Status

Refunds arise when TDS deducted or advance tax paid exceeds the final tax liability. After e-verification of the ITR, the CPC typically processes refunds within 20–45 days and credits them via ECS to the validated bank account. We track refund status on the portal, resolve Refund Banker failures, raise grievances for delayed or wrongly adjusted refunds, and re-validate bank accounts where mandated.
